70th anniversary Driestar Christian University 5 July 2014

The year 2014 is the 70th anniversary of Driestar Christian University. We will remember this fact in an anniversary service on Friday 19th September in the Sint Janskerk in Gouda.

Driestar was founded without funding in September 1944 in Krabbendijke, Zeeland, as a Reformed teacher training college. The university has grown significantly, both in number of students and in study opportunities.

“We would like to share something of the riches and blessings we have received with our international partners”, says Mr Rens Rottier, chair of the Executive Board of Driestar Christian University. As an essence of the theme ‘thanking and sharing’ the anniversary evening will have an international character, with representatives from Africa, China and Ukraine participating.

The evening in the Gouda Sint Janskerk begins at 19.30 and admission is free. The service will finish at around 22.00, followed by a social gathering where drinks will be served.
